Little Brother Shower- Yellow and Grey Adoption Shower

We were so blessed that our dear friends wanted to throw Jonny a shower to celebrate his birth and adoption. My friends and I usually plan these things together (we call ourselves the Pom Pom Committee) and it was incredible to see them plan this shower to be everything I could have ever dreamed it to be- perfectly me, perfect for Jonny!

Their inspiration for the color theme came from our nursery which is grey and yellow with some superhero accents and chevron print (will post more on the nursery another time).

Food:

Food Table

Pretty yellow rose cake and strawberry cheesecake shots
Burrito Cups
Spinach Dip Cups, Kahlua Cake Cups, Banana Pudding Cups
Drinks: Ice Tea, Lemonaide, Water with lemon wedges served on the side.

Pretty Mason Jar glasses with a lemon slice and grey and white striped straws for the perfect touch

 Favors:

Libby had close friends choose a few songs each and made a beautiful lullaby cd as a party favor. Each cd was in a sewn "quilt square" to match Jonny's quilt. How sweet and cute is that?

They also made "Dear Jonny" cards for guests to write a few wishes for Jonny. I just love these, and how wonderful for him to know how loved and cherished he is by so many!

Decor:

Quilt made for Jonny's nursery by my dear friend Gwen

Appliqued onsies and bib in different sizes on a clothes line made of ribbon
Jonny and his mommy! So blessed by this "shower" of love. What a journey.

Wasn't everything just lovely? I am so blessed to have friends like these girls! Thank you so so much Gwen, Jenn, Libby, Melinda, and Raquel!

Sweetheart Adoption Shower for Ava

Sweetheart Adoption Shower for Ava

I have been so lucky to find a community of wonderful adoptive famillies. We have been blessed to journey with them through their adoptions and we celebrate their joy. There is a group of five of us adoptive mommies that have become good buddies and we all have a common hobby- party planning! We have so much fun planning together, we have even nicknamed ourselves the "PomPom Committee"! Four of us planned this shower for Libby, who adopted Ava through domestic adoption.
Inspiration: We wanted to incorporate the nursery as much as possible for a personal touch so we chose aqua, pinks, and white. Libby loves tea rooms and so we decided to have tea foods. Ava means "like a bird" or "song bird" so we incorporated little touches of birds to the shower. We also used doilies to make it extra girly!
